My new toy
So, today I decided to finally make the switch to Cingular from AT&T. The reason for the switch was simple: rollover minutes.
As a side effect of this switch, I ended up with a new toy: the Motorola MPx220 Smartphone. I’ve only had this thing for a few hours so far, but all I can say is “wow”!
In virtually no time, I got this thing syncing with ActiveSync and had all of my Outlook contacts available on my phone. Talk about easy compared to how I used to have to add speed dial entries. On my old phone, it was so cumbersome that I refused to do it.
I have also used the MSN IM client to chat back and forth with contacts in my IM contact list. Way too cool…
My only gripe with this phone, and I suppose its with almost all phones out there is the lack of a real keyboard. Trying to do anything productive with the numeric keypad is a collossal pain in the ass.
Anyone know if there’s an addon foldup keyboard for this thing?
Fat Matt’s Rib Shack
So, I’ve been down here in Atlanta since Wednesday working with a client implementation. We’ve been having a good time here working through issues, but that isnt really the point of this post.
I want to recommend a place to eat if you are ever down in the Atlanta area. My boss and I went to Fat Matt’s Rib Shack, where we had absolutely the best barbecue I have ever had in my life.
If you get down here… you owe it to yourself to visit this place. Make sure to go after 8:00PM so you can get in some blues.
What will Google come up with next?
You know, I was pretty surprised when Google entered the digital image management market with Picasa and Picasa 2 (my current photo management package).
I’m even more surprised by their latest adventure (http://maps.google.com).
