What will Google come up with next?

Posted February 8th, 2005 by Matt Berther

You know, I was pretty surprised when Google entered the digital image management market with Picasa and Picasa 2 (my current photo management package).

I’m even more surprised by their latest adventure (http://maps.google.com).

I actually had a feeling that Google was going this direction, esp with their purchase of KeyHold and their positioning and as the defacto starting point of the web. The longer they can keep you around, the longer AdSense makes them a killing :-)… Bravo Google.

Also, with regards to Picasa 2 - I installed it recently and have to add that it is quite an impressive peice of software. I am wondering how it is being positioned to make Google money, but am assuming that it will include photo blogging features, etc, in future releases.

I typed Keyhole wrong in that last post… sorry.

Man, this is neat.

I don’t see the correlation with their primary business, but with all of that capital, I guess they are going to have to find creative ways to spend it.
