I have the VX6000 wireless mouse and keyb together, and ever since I bought them my Vista 32 and 64 bit screen savers will not kick in. My PC is home built gaming PC but have a photo directory for the screen saver. The fact that it will not kick in at all is really really driving me nuts.

My Problem was the screensaver wouldn't auto start. Also It wouldn't stay asleep either.

I have a PS/2 connected mouse and keyboard so it wasn't the HID non-user input filter that was needed.

What was happening was the network adapter kept waking up the computer and resetting the screensaver timer.

To Fix:

1. Click "Start/Control Panel/System/Device Manager

2. Under "Network Adapters" is your particular "Ethernet NIC"

Right-click and choose "Properties"

3. Click "Power Management" tab

4. Un-Check "Allow this device to wake computer"

5. Click "OK"

Fixed.

Enjoy.....

My screen saver doesn't work on Vista either. It turns on for a minute and then the monitor goes into a "power save" mode either initiated by windows or HP.

I tried to adjust the power save modes via vista but I'm still having trouble trying to get the screen saver to work. I even adjusted the monitor (HP f2105) to the best I can find, and still it doesn't work. I'm googling for more answers.

My screensaver was working fine for months, now suddenly there is an error - it cannot access the photos from my photobook. And rather than going to screensaver mode, it just goes to sleep. I haven't done anything to change my preferences, and when I try to switch to another screensaver, it doesn't solve the problem. I am basically tech-illiterate and would appreciate any basic advice anyone out there might have! Thanks!

I have exactly the same problem, with Vista (Home Premium), on my HP DV9700 Laptop, just using the just the touchpad and built-in keyboard. Apart from Wifi network, no wireless peripherals are involved. To make the screensaver kick in again, I have to go into Personalise and either change the screen saver or activation time. It must surely be a Vista bug - I haven't seen a similar bug in XP.

Like a lot of comments about the screen saver not working with Windows Vista. I purchased a Dell insiron 1720 in December and the screen saver has never worked. No wireless equipment in the house at the time. The Laptop was straight out of the box so no had not done anything to the Laptop! I still think it is a Vista Bug. In fact I have seen a lot of strange things with Vista over the last couple of months the error log I am making is getting quit long, is Vista still in Beta testing stage and we are the testers? Oh the screen saver did work once about 5 days ago I was that surprized that my luch nearly feel on the floor. the wife thourght I had gone mad. Wirelees mouse and WiFi network was running at this time.

I have a homebuilt PC. 680I SLI/TWIN 8800 NVIDIA GTX CARDS with 350 G HD and 4 GB CORSAIR DOMINATOR DDR2 RAM. I'm running Vista Ultimate. I also was running a MS wireless laser mouse and keyboard 6000. I had a spare Fellowes wireless keyboard and mouse. I swapped out to the Fellowes keyboard and mouse and all the screensaver BS problems went away. I suspect the MS mouse problem must be tied to a frequency problem and will be curious to see how Gates patches this one.
